Gina Rodda, CEA, LEED AP

Gina Rodda is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) and LEED Accredited Professional (AP) and principal/owner of Gabel Energy in Castro Valley, CA.

She is involved in providing residential and non-residential Title 24 Part 6 energy calculations for a variety of building types throughout California; providing calculations and assisted for LEED energy and atmosphere credits; instructing many in-person trainings throughout the state of California; and hosting various webinars specific to Title 24 (Part 6) Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

Gina has been in the energy modeling field since 1991.

Rosemary Howley, CEA

Rosemary Howley is a Senior Energy Analyst and the Manager of Gabel Energy’s Utility and Education Division. Rosemary started working for Gabel Energy (previously Michael Gabel Associates) in 1986, after earning a Master of Architecture degree from UCLA with a specialization in architectural energy efficiency. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Stanford University.

Rosemary is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) and has been involved in developing the statewide CEA program since its inception. Rosemary has many years’ experience in both residential and nonresidential building energy analysis and consulting. Most of her current work concentrates on writing, reviewing and editing resource and training materials on California’s Title 24 Part 6 Building Energy Efficiency Standards for energy analysts, building professionals and others through Energy Code Ace. This includes her work as lead author for the “2016 Residential Envelope and Solar Ready Application Guide” plus the 2019 Energy Code updates to that guide.

Rosemary has been a member of the California Association of Building Energy Consultants (CABEC) since it was founded, and she has served on CABEC’s Board of Directors since 2011.

Nonresidential Department Manager

Marina Chavez Blanco, CEA, LEED AP

Marina is a senior energy analyst and the Manager of the Nonresidential Division. She is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) and LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) providing energy consultant services primarily focusing on commercial and high rise residential projects. She also instructs classes on behalf the Energy Code Ace program.

Marina holds a degree of architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Her architectural background helps her work with clients to integrate energy saving measures into their designs to meet the California Energy Code requirements while still maintaining the project goals.

Residential Department Manager

Michelle Austin, CEA

Michelle is a senior energy analyst and the manager of the Residential Division. Over the years, she has worked on a wide array of projects from the simplest of additions to mega-size new home construction. Her work allows her to explore a wide variety of projects in many different climate zones and has helped her develop a realistic plan of attack for getting her projects to comply in the best ways possible.

Her goal is to make each project as simple and efficient for all parties involved. Michelle is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA), and a member of CABEC.

Accounting / Office Manager

Cynthia Stoneburner

Cynthia Stoneburner joined Gabel Energy in 2016. She is our Office Manager and Accounting Manager. She wears many other hats at Gabel Energy, including HR Generalist, Executive Assistant, Event Coordinator and assisting Gina with Decoding Talks.

Cynthia holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Valparaiso University, as well as an advanced certificate in Human Resources from Cal State East Bay. She spent some time as a Front-end web developer, and e-learning developer. She even has hands on experience doing energy analysis work!

Fiona Terreri, CEA

Fiona Terreri is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) and a LEED Accredited Professional with a primary focus on high rise residential projects. She holds a degree in architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is determined to make a difference one building at a time.

Energy Analyst

Jim Hurley, CEA

Jim Hurley is a CEA Energy Analyst at Gabel Energy.  He does most of his work in the non-residential division on commercial and high-rise residential buildings, although he moonlights as a single-family residential analyst as well.  As a result, he can help you with your Title 24 needs and inquiries regardless of the nature of the project.  Jim brings a positive attitude and knack for problem solving from his decade of working in special education and applies it to his daily work at Gabel.

Grace Caploe

Grace Caploe is one of Gabel Energy’s Administrative Assistants. She helps by processing new jobs, is a great support on large company projects, works closely with management to streamline company software and job processes. She is here to take on tasks that make everyone else’s jobs a little bit easier.

Energy Analyst

Micaela Cwieka McCraner, CEA

Micaela is a CEA energy analyst who primarily works with the Non-Residential and Utilities & Education Divisions of Gabel Energy, and also helps with residential projects from time to time.

Micaela holds a BA degree from UC Davis in Art History, and a BS in Energy Management and Design from Sonoma State. She is committed to making the energy code work in harmony with every project. Micaela is returning to Gabel Energy after taking a few years off to raise her two children.

Megan Rodda is a part-time office assistant that supports the accounting division and Energy Code Ace work. Outside of work, she is a student.

Junior Energy Analyst

Jose Perez

Jose has been working with the Energy Code since 2013. He began working part-time as a student with the Energy Standards Hotline. He is a certified HERS rater and is now making the transition to full-time and working his way towards his CEA certification.

Jose has an associates degree in Mathematics from American River College.
